Dear colleagues and friends,
Given the increasingly challenging COVID-19 situation across Europe, the EACVI Board has taken the very difficult decision to make EuroEcho 2021 online only. The onsite event, scheduled to take place in Berlin, will not go ahead as planned.
Germany, the host country for our upcoming EuroEcho 2021 congress, is experiencing a particularly high incidence rate and has already advised that large events should be avoided as restrictions are being tightened each day.
The good news is that, thanks to our dedicated scientific programme committee, outstanding faculty, and the support of our industry partners, the full scientific programme will be brought to EACVI members and the broader imaging community in a live online format. We are working to ensure delegates will get an exceptional online experience, with many opportunities to network and exchange with colleagues and presenters.
Everyone registered for the onsite event will automatically be transferred to the online congress and will be reimbursed the difference in the registration fee. We realise that this is frustrating and disappointing for everyone, but the safety of our faculty, presenters and staff must come first.
As partners of the EACVI, we hope that you will promote our event by sharing the platform link and invite your imaging colleagues to join EuroEcho 2021 online from 9 to 11 December.
Thank you in advance for your ongoing support. #strongertogether!
With our best regards,
Prof. Bernard Cosyns, EACVI President
Prof. Elif Sade and Dr. Denisa Muraru, EuroEcho 2021 Congress Programme Committee Chairs
